Owl City front man Adam Young scored a big hit last year with "Fireflies" and he is still trying to build off that success. Watch the video of a behind the scenes look at him on the road putting on a show.
Adam Young, better known as Owl City, is wokring on some new music. After the re-polishing of his old songs, which will be released next month as Sky Sailing, he's set to record some new material between now and next month. He says he's a flashdrive full of album and song titles but, as of now, he's worried more about the concept of the album. "This one, it's a little shinier, not quite so organic...it's almost airbrushed, and there's a variety of songs," says Young of the new stuff, "a bit dreamier, the melodies are a bit stronger and more powerful, and the lyrics are a bit wittier. It's more of a complete piece, really."
The album is due out early december adn will be entirely recorded in Young's basement, just like Ocean Eyes. Looking forward to it!

This video is very cool, and the music has an uplifting quality that gives one time to smile. A band like Owl City can be passed over as a gum pop thing, but that would be a bad assumption. Firstly, Owl City is not a band at all. Adam Young uses very ethereal sounds and playful melodies to take a journey. Secondly, the composition of this music goes further than the average pop song. Listen to "Fireflies" and tell me you don't want to download it.
Check out the live version of Owl City's Vanilla City. They performed this song in Austin, TX back in late October.
