Today (November 19) marks the kickoff of electro-rapper Sam Adams' Party Records Tour at the Fox Theater in Boulder, CO with a sold out show. This is the first full production headlining US tour for Adams. He is embarking on this 21 city tour, which has already sold out in numerous markets, including his New York City show at Irving Plaza.
Gracing the cover of today's Colorado Daily, the article boasts, "The rapper has created a brand of hip-hop that stands out from the pack. Adams mixes dancey, electro pop beats that run counterpoint to his raps. The fusion of diverse sounds has fans coming back for more."
Although Sam Adams is an East Coast artist, the kickoff city is fitting since some of his first shows took place in Boulder, where his best friend and eventual manager attended school. Adams had a seemingly quick rise to fame on the mainstream circuit; however his college fan base is the foundation his successful career has been built on. It was between his own school of Trinity College in Hartford, CT and the University of Colorado at Boulder along with the rapid speed of social networking that enabled him to land at #1 on the iTunes Hip-Hop charts with his first EP, Boston's Boy, earlier this year. Since that release, Adams has also dropped Party Records, a mixtape, hosted by DJ Cash and DJ Whoo Kid, which received thousands of downloads within the first few days of release.
His current single, Still I Rise, features upcoming artist and 1st Round Records label mate, G Curtis. A Houston native who currently lives in Los Angeles, G Curtis will be performing with Sam Adams on this tour as well as his own set at each show. G Curtis has an EP available digitally entitled Falling Up and will release his debut album in March.
