According to Classic Rock magazine, Billy Idol was one of Joe Perry's choices to replace Steven Tyler as lead vocalists. Perry had contacted Idol, except he never responded. I can't imagine Aerosmith without Steven Tyler, nor Billy being the frontman. But then again, he might add a little more oomph to the band.
