The man who started his music career as the drummer for Kurt Cobain and then made it big as guitarist of his own band can't be stopped
Grohl has stated that he wants to begin recording a new Foo Fighters album in September. The Foo Fighters' last studio album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace came out in 2007, and the band's most recent release came last year in the form of a greatest hits collection.
The question you may have is why wait until September to start recording. The answer is that Grohl is too busy with his latest side project, super-trio Them Crooked Vultures. The group is booked for festivals and appearances in Europe and Asia through August, which include Coachella in April.
In the meantime, here's a clip of the Vultures perfoming "Scumbag Blues" in Denmark last year, with Grohl tearing it up on the drums.
Foo Fighters Plan for Next Album
[UPDATED]
Also, Rolling Stone is reporting that the Foo Fighters will be recording with Butch Vig and that it will be their "heaviest album yet." Vig is known for his work producing the Smashing Pumpkin's Siamese Dream and Nirvana's Nevermind, among others.

From Metal Injection, here's a chaotic, disorienting, nausea-inducing, and all-around awesome video from Dillinger Escape Plan for their latest single "Farewell, Mona Lisa."
It's pretty close to a perfect video; you get to see just enough of the band members playing their instruments and it utilizes some pretty sweet camera work (I still love that camera-attached-to-the-chest close-up shot).
Not to mention the band really bangs it out in this one.
It's off, it's on. I don't know, I think the sun has set, but Aerosmith has announced that they on going on tour this summer. After weeks of break-up rumors and possible legal action taken by Steven Tyler's attorney, the band has reconciled. In this short blurb it shows a pretty chipper band, but I think I see a bit of animosity. Maybe it's because Tyler wants to do his own thing and Joe Perry wants to be his own man, but neither of can be stars without each other. Forty years can do that to people.
Here are the dates for the "Cocked, Locked, Ready to Rock" summer tour (you'll notice a lack of American venues):
June 10 – Sweden @ Rock Festival
June 13 – UK @ Download Festival
June 15 – London, UK @ London 02 Arena
June 18 – Bucharest, Romania
June 20 – Athens, Greece @ Olympic Stadium
June 23 – Holland @ Nijmegen Goeffert Park

June 27 – Barcelona, Spain @ St Jordi Arena
June 29 – Paris, France @ Bercy Arena
July 1 – Prague, Czech Republic @ Prague 02 Arena

You've probably heard that Thom Yorke of Radiohead fame has another band. The other members consist of Beck/R.E.M. drummer Joey Waronker, percussionist/multi-instrumentalist Mauro Refosco, and Flea, just in case you didn't know. Well, they have a name; Atoms of Peace.
Always being a man with a message, Thom got the name from a program President Eisenhower started in the 50's that promoted countries, including Iran, to use peaceful nuclear energy. Thanks for that Ike.
Flying Lotus will be opening for the band on a two-week, eight-date tour in April. Here are the dates for Atoms of Peace:
04-05 New York, NY - Roseland Ballroom
04-06 New York, NY - Roseland Ballroom
04-08 Boston, MA - Citi Wang Theatre
04-10 Chicago, IL - Aragon Ballroom
04-11 Chicago, IL - Aragon Ballroom
04-14 Oakland, CA - Fox Theatre
04-15 Oakland, CA - Fox Theatre

It has been nine years since rock/grunge/ultra cool band Stone Temple Pilots released an album, but the wait is over. Last night in NYC the entire twelve track album was aired. And if all this wasn't enough good news the band will be going out on tour this summer. There was also talks of STP starting their own festival.
So far the album hasn't been given a title, but the tracks are titled as such:
"Between The Lines"
"Take A Load Off"
"Huckleberry Crumble"
"Hickory Dichotomy"
"Dare If You Dare"
"Cinnamon"
"Hazydaze"
"Bag Man"
"Pea Coat"
"Fast As I Can"
"First Kiss On Mars"
"Maver"
