Using my super intern powers I recently added a ton of Elliott Smith, Townes Van Zandt, and Tom Waits to the system. They're three of my favorite songwriters. They still have not appeared for use on this radio, but hopefully it will soon.
By the way if you don't know who Townes Van Zandt is don't worry you're in the majority, but in my opinion he's one the best I've ever heard. Steve Earle actually said "Townes Van Zandt is the best songwriter ever, and I'll say that standing on Bob Dylan's coffee table." So when he's finally added check him out.
P.S. If you noticed every song in the top 5 is a cover, I did that on purpose. Mostly for fun's sake.
thanks for listening

Regina Spektor is one of the most unique and thought provoking artists alive today. I went to her concert last week, and I've decided to add her album to the playlist. Below is a review of the concert.

This radio is a continuation of a playlist I have had on Itunes for many years. It is the type of music you listen too while lying on the floor of your room and staring at the ceiling. If it were in a movie, it would play it over the scene right before the third act, in a montage where the main character stands by a lake skipping stones and thinking about what they are going to do.
Hangover music does not only refer to a drunken hangover. It refers to the way you feel after some powerful event has changed your life, and all you need is time alone to think. This feeling is one of the hearts of all music, and is not limited by genre, so neither is this station.
As the library of songs at Goom increases, expect this station to change. I'll slowly add more songs by artists like Elliott Smith, Sufjan Stevens, Townes Van Zandt, Aimmee Mann, Bob Dylan and others. If you have any recommendations please add them.
Thanks for listening.
